CIRCUMSTANTIAL HAPPINESS

Do you ever have goals you are attempting to accomplish? You are so set on accomplishing them that you tend to block out everything else? Sometimes I can get this way with my business. I am so focused on my goals, that I start to let it affect the rest of my life. Sometimes even my mood. I consider this circumstantial happiness. I will be happy when …

When we do this, we give away control of our emotions and we place it on something external. This puts us in the waiting game. Instead of letting yourself be happy now, you have to wait until you achieve something. 

I see many women do this with their weight. They hold off loving themselves, or being fully happy with their lives because of the way they look. Robbing themselves of the present moment. 

If you catch yourself doing this here are some ways to bring you back to the present moment and put yourself in gratitude. Because we can’t be in fear or hate when we are in gratitude. 

Deep Breathing: This disrupts your thought patterns and helps you focus in the moment. I would take at least three deep breaths. 

Positive Affirmation: While you are deep breathing you can repeat an affirmation to yourself. This helps train your mind to focus on the positive instead of the limiting beliefs it is sticking to. Some of my favorites are:

“I am going to pace I am supposed to”  

“I give myself the love I deserve” 

“I can do hard things”

Gratitude List: Start naming things you are grateful for in your life. 

Compliment Yourself: This one is my favorite because you are practicing treating yourself with kindness. When I start basing my happiness on external things, I often am beating myself up for not being enough already. I start to list the things that I am presently good at. This not only makes me feel better, but makes me feel inspired.
